Drunk man's shuffle
Sunday, August 01, 2010

An officer was driving down the road one night and saw a man staggering in the middle of the street. He pulled along side him and heard him mumbling incoherently. The officer asked him why he was in the middle of the street and he looked down at his feet, turned to his left and walked, with great difficulty, to the sidewalk.

The officer pulled his car over and got out to talk to the man and was hammered drunk, filthy dirty and had peed in his pants. after several failed attempts (due to severely slurred speech) he gave the officer his name and said he was on the way home from a nearby bar..

And while talking to him, the man;s pants fell down three times he staggered around trying to get them back up and the officer had to help steady him so eh would;t fall in the street. He finally sat down in the grass and emptied his pockets without being asked to do so. Turned out to be a good thing for the officer because it saved some time when he went to pat him down and search him for weapons - right before he took him to jail for being drunk in public.
