A car with an expired license plate cruised by officers, so the driver was pulled over and questioned. It turns out the plate expired last June, but the driver said he had paid his taxes, just never received a new plate or stickers. When asked for proof of insurance he said all his paperwork was at home but he was up to date with Geico. So the officer called the insurance company but they had no record of a policy for this driver. In fact, his policy expired in August of 2008. He said his girlfriend handles all the bills and such and was not aware the policy had lapsed. When asked to call his girlfriend he made the excuse that she was at work and could not be reached. The man's license was clear with no suspensions so he was issued a courtesy summons for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and an Expired License Tag. The car was towed and he was allowed to walk to work which was just down the road.
