Sticky situation
Friday, August 27, 2010
A Mount Pleasant man who owns a fairly decent pick up truck had some mechanical difficulties with it one day and thought it very strange since the truck was running just fine the day before.

He was turning down a road when the truck stalled on him, almost causing him to be struck by oncoming traffic.

This truck is automatic and not a stick shift so there was no operator error here.

He managed to push the truck out of the way and had it towed back to his house. He began looking at the truck to see what kind of repair work would need to be done when eh came across a clear sticky substance all over the gas tank hole.

A mechanic looked at the truck and said it was some type of sugar substance that had been maliciously put there and inside his gas tank.

The man knew right away who likely had done this. It was an old business partner that he had seen driving past his house late one night. This business partner had also told him a story about a man that owed him money and never paid up. He said instead of sugar he poured corn syrup into this man's gas tank. Oddly enough, this as the same substance poured into his gas tank.

He is already in civil litigation with this former business partnership and now it looks like they;ll be seeing each other in criminal court if he can prove his hunch.
