Undercover narcotics officers were conducting surveillance at a local hotel when a guy came walking up to one of the officers. They were in plain clothes and looking rather scruffy so the man had no way of knowing they were officers of the law.

The man looked at one officer and said, “hey are you partying?”

He introduced himself as Andre from New York and then asked the undercover officer what he was looking for. The officer said he was looking for some powder to which the dealer confirmed he could get him some hard, which is crack cocaine. He said he could get that easier and quicker. The officer then asked what room the man was in. He told him the room number and the officer said he would be right up after he talked to his friend and got the money.

The officer then met with a supervisor and briefed him on what went down. At this point the man tracked the officer down and asked him what was taking so long. The undercover cop did not want the dealer to get suspicious so he followed him to his room.

Inside the room was a big gun, sitting there quietly. He did not introduce himself. In the meantime the dealer was on the phone trying to score some powder with no luck. He told the undercover cop he could ride over to Greenhill and score some hard instead. At this point the supervisor, acting as the undercover officer’s friend, knocked on the hotel room door to get a visual of the room. The undercover cop said he would be downstairs in his room getting the money. The men headed out the door too and said they would need the money first. The undercover officer gave them $20 up front and said he’d give them $20 when they returned. The dealer said he could be trusted, handed over his wallet and said, “I’m coming back.”

And he did, handing over a small rock. They thanked him and asked him how to get in touch should they need anything else. The dealer said he’d be in the room. The officer began the process of preparing a warrant for distribution and planned to make another buy to make his case.
