Explore a dog grooming career

A Lowcountry resident can learn any trade from culinary to salon management. However, one multi million dollar industry has been neglected.

Introducing Lowcountry School of Dog Grooming.

This new school will offer a chance for our community members to explore this type of career in which they can set their own hours, fees, and have the flexibility of working for themselves.

Kelley Blackston, owner of Beaufort Dog reports, has teamed up with Tara Farmer, veteran groomer in the area and member of the National Groomers Association of America to offer a new option for members of the Lowcountry.  Together with sponsors, experts in business and marketing, they have started this new vocational school with something for everyone.  They will have locations close enough for everyone in the Lowcountry of South Carolina and neighboring Georgia.

However, this school will also offer different types of classes like online in addition to traditional and apprenticeships from one to three days a week to accommodate everyone's needs:

"It offers a great alternative to working moms, stay at home moms, and anyone wanting to be their own boss and set their own hours," Farmer said.

It will also help with financial aid and job placement.

"I want to know talented people to whom I can send my training clients, " Blackston said.  "We even will have some permanent positions for the cream of the crop."

This school will also provide a low cost grooming alternative to the community and work closely with the animal shelters and neglected pets.

Everything you will need to know to start your own dog grooming business will be taught in a 10 week session.  The first semester begins in late August.  The Lowcountry School of Dog Grooming is taking pre-enrollments now. Visit www.doggroomerschool.com.
