Trident Literacy celebrates GED recipients Printer Friendly Version | 0 comment(s)
“Trident Literacy helps adults prepare for the GED exam,” explained Eileen Chepenik, executive director. “But it is their determination, and their families’ support that really helps them to achieve their goals.” The students who received their GEDs during 2007-2008 were: Eric Anderson, Marcus Collier, Anthony Lorick, and Chris Roberts of Charleston; Lisa Benton, Jackie Haynes, Michael Lockwood Sr., Maegan Taylor, and Caitlyn Thorneburg of North Charleston; Jason Engermann, Theresa Johnson, and Layla Wise of Goose Creek; Jason Paul, Edward Tengan, and Lisa Marie Thomas of Summerville; Justin Joiner and Robert Shipman of Ladson; Jonathan Creel of Cottageville; Hilda Dawson of Moncks Corner; Benito Espinoza Jr. of Johns Island; Robert Jones II of Mt. Pleasant; and Richard Miller of Huger. “These students have already enrolled in college, joined the military, or improved their job prospects as a result of their achievements,” Chepenik said. Trident Literacy Association is a leading provider of basic literacy, GED-prep, English as a second language and computer instruction for adults in the tri-county. For more information call 747-2223.
