A FIRST-Rate Experience

Printer Friendly Version  |  0 comment(s)

College is an experience characterized by change and challenges. Clemson University has developed a program to help ensure success for students who are the first in their family to attend college.

The Clemson FIRST program assists first-generation college students in reaching their career goals in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) majors. Eligible students are freshmen and new transfer students who are entering majors in the University's College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences (CAFLS) and in the College of Engineering and Science (CES)

Be FIRST!

First-generation college students are students whose parents do not hold a degree from a four-year college or university. You are still considered a first-generation student if your parent attended a two-year technical or junior college, or if your parent attended a four-year college but did not graduate.
