Grab your fishing rod and get ready to catch some fun at the Folly Beach Fishing Pier and the Mount Pleasant Pier this summer.
This summer's fishing season is wrapping up, with the Folly Beach Fishing Pier's annual Big Kahuna Tournament on Aug. 14 and the Mount Pleasant Pier's final tournament of the year on August 21.
New to the fishing scene are the Mount Pleasant Pier fishing tournaments known as the Cooper River Challenge.
The challenge kicked off its inaugural season June 5, and will host its last fishing tournament of the year on Aug. 21.
This breathtaking pier facility is a sight to see and offers fishing right in Charleston Harbor under the shade of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, with swings, benches and other seating available.
It doesn't matter if you are visiting the pier for the first time or have never fished before.
Both piers offer everything a novice would need for a fun day of fishing, including equipment rentals, tackle and frozen bait, plus staff available to offer tips.
The Folly Beach Fishing Pier is home to Locklear's Beach City Grill, and at the Mount Pleasant Pier the River Watch Cafe is the place to grab lunch.
Both piers also include gift shops and restrooms.
