DNLCC is a coordinating agency for services to abused children and their non-offending caregivers. Therapists conduct interviews with the child and non-offending caregiver. Partner agency professionals observe the child's interview through a closed circuit system. DNLCC has 39 partner agencies, who have executed a Community Child Abuse Response Protocol, including local law enforcement, school districts and departments of Social Services and Mental Health. DNLCC provides services at no cost to families. Funds from the Roper St. Francis Physicians' Endowment will help ensure that the Lowcountry's most vulnerable children receive these vital services and help its families heal from the aftermath of abuse.
