Charleston County Park's Reggae Concert Series kicks off June 12

  

Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission will kick off its first concert of this summer's reggae series on Saturday, June 12 at James Island County Park. Gates will open at 7:30 p.m. and music by Selah Dub will begin at 8:30 p.m.

All ages are invited and children 12 and under, as well as Gold Pass holders, enjoy free admission. Concertgoers can also enjoy Caribbean fare from Brieles Lowcountry Cafe, as well as pizza and other foods for sale at the event. Browse booths on site displaying local handmade crafts and souvenirs available for purchase.

Additional reggae concerts will take place throughout the summer at James Island as well as North Charleston Wannamaker County Park. The 2010 Reggae Concert Series schedule is:

Sat, June 12 Selah Dubb James Island County Park

Sat, July 10 Dub Addis Wannamaker County Park

Sat, July 17 Jahfe James Island County Park

Sat, Aug. 7 Mystic Vibrations Wannamaker County Park

Sat, Aug. 21 Jah Works James Island County Park

Sat, Sept. 18 The Resolvers Wannamaker County Park

Tickets can be purchased at the gate: $8 for adults (13 and up) or 5 Greenbax; children 12 and under are free. Annual Gold Passes will be honored. No outside alcohol or coolers. For more information or for a current band schedule, visit www.ccprc.com/reggae or call (843)-795-4FUN (4386).
