Drayton Hall to host ‘Preservation Technical Tour’
In honor of National Preservation Month, Drayton Hall will introduce the Preservation Tech Tour, a new program designed to give those with an interest in architecture, history, and preservation a better understanding of and appreciation for the technical aspects of the site’s design, construction, and preservation efforts. Participants will be treated to a behind-the-scenes exploration of the house, examining construction details, architectural elements, materials, and past and current preservation efforts to reveal a layer of the site’s history that is rarely shown in such depth.
Led by Drayton Hall senior interpreters, the tour will begin with a brief illustrated lecture followed by a tour of the house, including areas normally closed to visitors.
* Tours will be offered the first Saturday of every month from 8: 30- 10: 30 a.m.
* Admission is $25 per person, $20 for Friends of Drayton Hall, and includes a light breakfast.
* Space is limited and advance reservations are required.
* To reserve, contact Natalie Baker at (843) 769- 2638 or natalie_baker@draytonhall.org.
