01) Car break-ins 09-20-23

Police recently identified and arrested three individuals who were seen pulling on car door handles in and around the Restore at Carolina Park apartments in Mount Pleasant during the afternoon hours of Sept. 11.

Saddarius Woodfield (18 year-old Black male), Jeyvis Stewart (20-year-old Black male) and Bernadette Ladson (no description) were brought into custody by the Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) for allegedly trying to open car doors. One witness, according to a corresponding police report, indicated that the suspects successfully gained entry into two vehicles.

Using drone technology, MPPD officers located the subjects near a pond in the Merrill Gardens housing area. Upon further investigation, the alleged lawbreakers — all wearing dark hoodies — were spotted yanking door handles near Building 2000 in the Restore complex.

The trio was reportedly "spooked" and ran out of view. They later reemerged driving away at a high rate of speed in a small silver sedan. No details were provided on the ensuing pursuit.

Cops at the scene found that several vehicles had been entered.

The complainant opted not to press charges, police say. No victims were reported during the commission of break-ins and general car tampering.
