About four months after searching for the subject who reportedly shot multiple victims along the Ocean Boulevard beach in Isle of Palms, local police believe they have located their person of interest.

The Isle of Palms Police Department announced via an Aug. 11 media release that Davion Bobby Del'Shawn Singleton, 18, has been apprehended and charged with five counts of attempted murder in relation to an April 7 physical disturbance that occurred at an IOP beach area under a private pier.

On the afternoon of the attack, police reportedly ran towards the rapid open gun fire, as multiple victims had suffered gunshot wounds. Medical assistance was provided, with five of those same individuals receiving transport to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

Singleton — a Charleston resident — was additionally charged with one count of Possession of a Firearm and one count of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

The police report further states: "The Isle of Palms Police Department would like to express its gratitude to the community for their support and cooperation throughout the investigation. The swift resolution of this case would not have been possible without the invaluable assistance provided by citizens who came forward with crucial information. We would also like to acknowledge the dedication and collaborative efforts of our partner agencies at SC Law Enforcement Division, Charleston Police Department, North Charleston Police Department, Summerville Police Department, Mount Pleasant Police Department, and the FBI who played an integral role in the successful apprehension of the suspect. Our detectives have worked tirelessly to bring this suspect to justice and their hard work and dedication has paid off."
