Myrtle Beach International Airport

Breeze Airways, known as the nation’s only Nice Low Cost Carrier (NLCC), announced three new routes from Myrtle Beach International Airport on April 24.

MYRTLE BEACH — Breeze Airways will launch three new routes from Myrtle Beach International Airport this summer, according to a news release from the airport.

Beginning in June, the Utah-based carrier will begin nonstop routes between Myrtle Beach and Akron-Canton, Ohio; Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa.; and Westchester County, N.Y.

This brings the total number of Breeze flights out of Myrtle Beach to seven. Flights are also available to Charleston, W.Va.; Hartford, Conn.; Providence, R.I.; and Tampa, Fla.

“We are thrilled to see Breeze Airways rapidly expanding its offerings at MYR," Horry County Director of Airports Judi Olmstead said in the release. “These new destinations will provide air travel options to high-demand and underserved markets, making them an excellent addition to our summer schedule. We want to express our gratitude to Breeze Airways for their continued commitment to serving the travel needs of our residents and tourists.”

Introductory fares for the new routes start at $39 one-way if purchased by April 30 for travel by Jan. 7.

In recent years, tourism officials have marketed Myrtle Beach as a year-round destination. Expecting additional travelers, airport leaders are adding parking, expanding the terminal and giving passengers more flight options.

A 45,000-square-foot terminal project will add six gates with boarding bridges to existing facilities just outside Gate A7. Enhancements include new concession options, additional restrooms and passenger waiting areas. Construction is expected to begin this summer and last about 18 months.
