Water Missions International is celebrating its 10 year anniversary with A Global Affair Gala and Silent Auction on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Lowndes Grove in downtown Charleston. The black-tie event is hosted by a local nonprofit organization, Possibilities Without Borders and is being managed by College of Charleston School of Business Hospitality and Tourism Event Management students.
Funds raised at A Global Affair will provide a community in Kenya with a Living Water Treatment System, as well as support a group of students from the College of Charleston traveling to Kenya for this project next spring. While in Kenya, the students will install the safe water system, help establish access to clean drinking water and will work with community leaders on how to maximize this technology.
Tickets are $75 in advance and $85 at the door. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold, so purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged. The ticket link and additional information is available on the Possibilities Without Borders website: www.possibilitieswithoutborders.org.
Opportunities to support this cause are still available by becoming a sponsor or donating to the silent auction.
