On March 25, Charleston Waterkeeper will host its first Water Ball at the South Carolina Aquarium, from 7-11 p.m.
Established on Sept. 16, 2008, Charleston Waterkeeper is a citizen-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to defending Charleston's waterways from pollution, while protecting the public's right to clean water.
All funds raised from the evening will aid Charleston Waterkeeper in its efforts to measurably improve the quality of Charleston's waterways.
Five hundred guests from throughout the Lowcountry community will enjoy an evening dedicated to clean water.
Upon entering the Aquarium, guests will be greeted by a variety of educational installations, interactive displays (including multiple projections, an inflatable video dome, and a surprise "water machine"), food and drinks from local vendors, music and special guest appearances to be announced.
The silent auction will feature an array of packages and products from regional and national companies, artists and supporters.
On Monday, thewaterball.org Web site was launched. It will serve as the portal for additional event details, sponsorship information, and ticket sales.
