Celebrate St. Patricks day
Tuesday, March 09, 2010

There will be a parade in celebration of St. Patricks Day, beginning at Vanderhorst and King and winding it way down to Broad Street. The event also has three other functions, the first is a Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 8 a.m. on Comings Street followed by the parade at 9 a.m.

The parade prides itself in being an all inclusive parade for everyone. After the parade many of the participants and parade watchers walk to city hall for a flag raising ceremony with the flag of Ireland and the singing of The Irish National Anthem. Last but not least is a get together at O'Malleys on King Street, historically this event is at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 143 Calhoun Street but because of construction it will be held at O'Malleys. All participants and the public are invited to enjoy a home made Irish American boiled lunch (corn beef).

There will also be Irish step dancers from various Southeastern groups, Irish sing-a-longs, International bagpiper brigades, fiddlers and more.

Information can be found by contacting 843-709-0732.
