Celebrate the Art of Giving With Operation Home
Wednesday, March 03, 2010

SULLIVANS ISLAND, SC- On Saturday, March 6th friends and supporters of Operation Home, a Mt Pleasant based non-profit that addresses substandard housing issues, will gather at Island Gallery on Sullivans Island to celebrate the 'art of giving'. 20% of all art sales made that evening will be donated to Operation Home. Guests will also have an opportunity to make a donation in support of a case currently on Operation Home's waiting list, which consists of over 200 families.

In addition to fabulous art by local artists, guests can enjoy wine and cheese donated by Seel's on Sullivans. 'This event is a great example of how local businesses can come together to support a very worthwhile cause. With over 200 cases on the waiting list, the support of all sectors of the community is critical in helping us carry out our work. We simply couldn't do our work without the support and generosity of the community,' said Anna Hamilton, Operation Home's Executive Director.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information visit www.operationhome.org or call (843)568-7455.

Island Gallery is located at 2214 Middle Street on Sullivans Island.

Founded in 1997, Operation Home's mission is to help people remain in their homes by increasing safety and accessibility through the coordination of critical home repairs. In 2009, Operation Home assisted over 130 families referred from over 30 agencies throughout the Tricounty area.
