On Friday, Sept. 11, over 60 volunteers from different sectors of the community participated in the Trident United Way Day of Caring at Murray-LaSaine. Employees from Blackbaud spent the day landscaping and weeding flower beds around the school. Bishop Gadsden retirees and employees painted, put up bead board in the front office, and read with students.
Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. joined Bishop Gadsden on the front office project and provided picnic tables for the playground and repainted the basketball court.
JK Harris and Company employees painted and organized the science lab into a fun as well as functional space. Money was donated by Patrick Veterinary Clinic to purchase supplies for the front office project as well as other items needed to make our day of caring a success. To keep the volunteers energized, Piggly Wiggly supplied a hearty lunch that was appreciated and enjoyed by all the carpenters, painters, landscapers, and readers who came to Murray-LaSaine.
