Friday, January 27, 2012
Mac Burdette, Executive Director of Patriots Point Development Authority, announced this morning that Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum will open to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 27 – one full day ahead of schedule. On Sunday, PPDA closed to the public to begin a three-part project to return the destroyer Laffey to Patriots Point, relocate the submarine Clamagore to a more accessible berth and upgrade/replace aging utilities. “We are excited to get back to „business as usual? at Patriots Point,” Burdette stated. “We appreciate the public's patience while we brought the Laffey home and implemented these important upgrades. We look forward to welcoming everyone back.” This Friday only, Patriots Point invites the public to visit at reduced admission rates -- $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-10. As always, military in uniform and children under 6 are free.
