The 2008 Piccolo Spoleto Sand Sculpting Competition will take place Saturday, May 31 on the Front Beach on the Isle of Palms. Competitors can enter in the following divisions; Children (ages 14 and under), Young Adult (ages 15-19), Family (at least one adult and one child) and Adult (ages 20 and older). The competition begins at 9 a.m.
The award ceremony for the children’s division is at 10:30 a.m. For all other divisions it will take place at 1 p.m. This is a free event. Individual and team entries are permitted. Teams are limited to four people. The first 250 to register are guaranteed a free T-shirt; sizes are subject to availability. Registration the day of the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. or register at the Isle of Palms Recreation Department.
