Five Wando High School seniors took the title of Last Band Standing at Young & Free South Carolina’s battle of the bands.

The Whisperjets, composed of members Corey Bargeloh (vocals and guitar), Clay White (bass guitar), Josh Hoover (drums and percussion), Ben Donner (trumpet) and Daniel Imholz (trombone), took first place among five bands in the competition with their take on brass-infused pop-rock. As the top-scoring act, the Whisperjets won $1000 and a spot on the schedule at ShineFest, which took place at Joe Riley Stadium this weekend.

Stereo Reform was first runner up and won $500 in cash.
