Pelican’s SnoBalls, a national franchise serving “Original New Orleans Snoballs,” recently opened its first Mount Pleasant location. The new establishment celebrated the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 8. Mount Pleasant Mayor Linda Page, along with Town Council Members Gary Santos, Elton Carrier, Jim Owens, and Mark Smith and Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce President Chris Staubes were in attendance.
With roots in Raleigh, N.C., Pelican’s SnoBalls has more than 90 locations, primarily in the Southeast. Each location is family-owned and operated. The Mount Pleasant location is owned and operated by Chris Wiksell, a native of Mount Pleasant.
Located at 409 West Coleman Blvd., Pelican’s will operate Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. and from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday. There are 100 flavors and toppings, with gluten-free, nut-free, and sugar-free options.
