Irving Eugene (Herb) Scaffe
  
Irving Eugene (Herb) Scaffe, 66, husband of Camille Avant Scaffe of Mount Pleasant, S.C. entered into eternal rest the morning of Tuesday, May 17, 2011. The relatives and friends of Herb Scaffe are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, May 19, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 11 a.m. Burial was private. The family received friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 4 - 6 p.m.

Herb was born on October 7, 1944 in Charleston, S.C., son of the late William Leake Scaffe and Anne Fortune Scaffe. He graduated from Bishop England High School and Clemson University. He served in the United States Army and retired from Davis and Floyd as a Civil Engineer. He was an expert wood worker and avid reader and had a great love of all animals.

He is survived by his loving wife, Camille Scaffe of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one son, David Scaffe; sisters, Barbara Scalease, Julie Gilg, Yvonne Rodgers, Patricia Varn and her husband, James; brothers, William Scaffe and his wife, Rheta, and Thomas Scaffe and his wife, Teresa; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Wolfe, and six rescue cats. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Constance Borrelli Scaffe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, James Island, S.C. 29412.
