Jane C. Riel (Shanahan) (Wallace), of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts; age 76, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010.

She was the devoted daughter of the late Cornelius Shanahan and the late Dorothy and John Mills, formerly of Somerville, MA.

She is survived by her children, Donna G. Fairhurst and her husband, Edward, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Frederick E. Wallace and his wife, Dee, of Tewksbury, MA, Faith A. Walsh and her husband, James, of Lowell, MA, Nancy L. Riel of Lowell, MA, George R. Riel and Paula McDonough of Wilmington, MA, and David E. Riel of Lynn, MA.

Jane was the beloved sister of Phyllis Elmore of Marlboro, MA, Nancy Whittemore of Wellesley, MA and the late Patricia Ray of Everett, MA.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hope Amico, Kimberly Whiting, Ashley Wallace, Brittney Wallace, Stephanie Walsh, Jeffrey Walsh, Jamie Lewandowski, Adam Hiscock, Zachary Riel, Erin Riel and many nieces and nephews.
