On Sat., April 26, Wal-Mart hosted a fundraiser for Lowcountry Orphan Relief. Their new delivery truck "LORI" was stationed in the parking lot in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month and to raise money for the local charity that provides clothing, shoes, toiletries, and school supplies to abused, abandoned and orphaned children in the Charleston region.
 Wal-Mart distributed a wish list for clothing, shoes, underwear, toiletries and diapers needed by LOR and made store announcements throughout the day.  Upwards of 100 patrons dropped off new purchases at the truck as well as cash donations.
 On April 12, Lowes at Towne Centre, Mount Pleasant hosted a fundraiser where nearly $900 was collected from Lowes shoppers.
"LORI," the truck and Lowcountry Orphan Relief Volunteers will be at The AVP Charleston Open Pro Volleyball Tour at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island from, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, May 10, accepting new children's clothing and school supplies as well as cash donations.  To learn more about Lowcountry Orphan Relief, visit lowcountryorphanrelief.org or call 843-747-4099.
