Join the 2011 PGA Tour
Tuesday, August 17, 2010

The Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island, the Nationwide Tour's season-ending event where the top 60 money winners compete for 25 PGA TOUR cards and a spot on the 2011 PGA Tour, announces open enrollment for volunteers at the Oct. 25-31 event. Over 650 volunteers are needed to staff this world class tournament, which will be televised live on the Golf Channel. Volunteers ages 12 and up can serve in a wide range of areas, and there are many positions available for those who may not have golf knowledge but want to participate.

"Our volunteer team is one of the best in the business. We welcome anyone and everyone to come join the fun, and to help us welcome back the best the Nationwide Tour has to offer to Daniel Island," commented Alexa Devine Harnig, Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island Volunteer Coordinator. "We enjoyed an incredible first year in 2009 and are very excited to raise the bar in 2010."

Volunteer information and applications can be found online at NationwideTourChampionship.com, or by contacting Alexa Devine Harnig at (843) 881-2532 or via e-mail at smudevine@aol.com.

Volunteers are required to serve a minimum of three shifts, each lasting four to six hours, with opportunities available beginning Saturday, Oct. 23, and concluding on the evening of Monday, Nov. 1.

Committee choices include: Admissions/Will Call, Media, Practice Range, Transportation, Cart Shuttles, Office Administration, Pro-Am, Volunteer Services, Caddie Services, Operations, Scoring Central, Walking Scorers, Hospitality, Parking, Scoring Tents/Runners, Water & Ice, Information, Player Relations, Standard Bearers, Distribution, Marshals, Player Shuttles, and Television.

The simple registration process includes reviewing the Volunteer Committee list to identify the top three departments that best fit each person's interests, downloading, completing, and submitting the application, and signing a waiver. Once registered, each volunteer will be contacted by a volunteer chairperson.
