Mount Pleasant Swim Club Coach Awarded Coach of the Year from South Carolina Swimming

At the recent South Carolina Swimming Banquet in Greenville, SC, Mount Pleasant Swim Club Head Coach Liz Campbell (right) was awarded the honor of South Carolina Coach of the Year.  Coach Doug Fetchen (at left), also of the Mount Pleasant Swim Club, was elected as general chair of South Carolina Swimming. 

[MOUNT PLEASANT] – At the annual South Carolina Swimming banquet on the evening of Saturday, April 19, Mount Pleasant Swim Club Head Coach Elizabeth Campbell was awarded South Carolina Coach of the Year.

 

“This is a great honor for Liz and our department,” said Mount Pleasant Recreation Department Program Division Chief Stacey Harrington.  “She is a great coach and we are fortunate she works with us.”

 

During the same weekend, Mount Pleasant Swim Team coach Doug Fetchen was elected general chair of South Carolina Swimming, the highest position on the organization’s board.

 

Featuring a dinner, awards ceremony and guest speakers, the South Carolina Swimming Banquet was held in Greenville, SC.  It was open to all registered members of South Carolina Swimming, including coaches, athletes and their families.  For more information on South Carolina Swimming, visit the organization’s website at www.sc-swimming.org. 

 The Mount Pleasant Swim Club is a competitive year-round program that provides young swimmers with the opportunity to swim at the level he or she desires within the structure of the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department and USA Swimming.  The pool at the Park West Recreation Complex serves the MPSC swimmers.  The MPSC team is divided into five groups based on age, ability and competition.  For more information on the Mount Pleasant Swim Club, visit the club’s website at www.mountpleasantswimclub.com.  Also visit www.townofmountpleasant.com.
