The 2008 Wando Swim Team

Both the Wando girls and boys swim teams, under the direction of Head Coach Allyson Youmans and Assistant Coach Nick Reese, continued their reign as Region 7AAAA champions at the annual swim meet on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Park West pool. The team will travel to the USC Natatorium in Columbia for the 2008 South Carolina Swimming Championships, Oct. 11.

The girls Region champions include: Chase Muller, Gionna Lesky, Danielle Morrin, and Anna Garrett (200 yd. medley relay); Brennan McDavid, Katie Apple, Jenne Rogalski, and Chase Muller (200 yd. free relay); Danielle Morrin, Brennan McDavid, Katie Apple, and Jenna Rogalski (400 yd. free relay); Danielle Morrin (200 yd. Individual medley and 100 yd. breaststroke); Brennan McDavid (50 yd. freestyle and 100 freestyle); Jenna Rogalski (100 yd. butterfly); and Chase Muller (100 yd. backstroke).

The boys Region champions include: Stewart Gress, Zach Lierley, Jon Lierley, and Will Wright (200 yd. medley relay); Tommy Mills, Sean Rieflin, Conner Hickenbottom, and Phil Carey (200 yd. free relay); Jon Lierley, Will Wright, Stewart Gress, and Zach Lierley (400 yd. free relay); Andrew Bagley (200 yd. freestyle); Zach Lierley (200 yd. individual medley); Jon Lierley (100 yd. butterfly and 500 yd. freestyle); and Stewart Gress (100 yd. backstroke).
