Yoga’s top instructors sign on for Kids’ Health Printer Friendly Version | 0 comment(s)
This year yoga instructors from all over the city will lead the way in the 5th annual yoga-thon on Sat. Oct. 11th from 12-2 p.m. to benefit Louie’s Kids, a non-profit organization assisting children suffering from obesity. “Looks like a ‘who’s who’ of the Charleston yoga scene will be out on Marion Square this year for the yoga marathon,” said Louis Yuhasz of Louieskids.org. “The line up of those calling the poses this year are really some of the most impressive yoga professionals the Lowcountry has to offer,” he adds. Participants in the yoga-thon will complete up to 108 “Sun Salutations or up to 108 minutes of yoga, with sponsors donating money for each Sun Salutation or minute of yoga completed. “A lot of folks have said recently well I don’t do yoga –but I’d like to learn or just contribute and I’ve told them they can come watch some yoga demonstrations, pick up schedules to all the local studios and be a yogi for a day,” Yuhasz said. “In addition to Yoga being therapeutic and having a multitude of health benefits it also teaches community involvement, compassion and volunteerism.” When and Where: Saturday, Oct. 11 from 12-2 p.m. in Marion Square, Downtown.
