Island Coastal Lager (ICL), brought their island vibes to The Lowcountry Open the last weekend of June. ICL was a featured sponsor for the event and had a team participate in the tournament.
The Lowcountry Open has quickly become a premier destination tournament for not only South Carolina anglers, but for boat-teams up and down the Atlantic seaboard. However, the event’s purpose of supporting veterans, is what makes it unique.
The ICL team rose to the occasion, placing in numerous categories, and taking home the gold in the Offshore Dolphin Bullseye Bonus category. Scott Hansen, ICL co-founder and Citadel graduate, has a passion for veterans. Co-founders Scott Hansen and Brandon Perry proactively look for ways to support veterans in the community.
“We take full advantage of any opportunity to give back, and the Lowcountry Open gave us the platform to do that, while doing something we love. In honor of the tournament’s efforts, our team has decided to donate our winnings from the event to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation,” Perry said.
In tribute of the Fourth of July, the event was a precursor to numerous veteran-based efforts ICL has been rolling out. The premium lager recently released a “Warrior Series” line of merchandise. The products were inspired by veterans, with a portion of sales being donated to support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. The brand is also excited to announce their “ICL Heroes” social media campaign. The campaign will be highlighting veterans and how they found their island, while serving our country.
“Many brave men and women wake up everyday to fight for our safety and freedom. It is because of them that we are able to pursue our passion and spread our brand’s vision across the country. As a company, we have a responsibility to support them in any way possible,” Hansen said.
