Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church (MPPC) installed Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum as Pastor and Head of Staff on Sunday, Nov. 4, during the 11:15 a.m. worship service.

A graduate of Davidson College, Bynum worked on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. before earning his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He worked with law firms in Charlotte and Wilmington, N.C. before earning his Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Va. and a doctorate in Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga. He served previously as senior minister of First Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, N.C. and most recently, as senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Concord.

Bynum, his wife Stephanie and two children live on Sullivan’s Island.
