Nancy Herritage, Regent 2016-18, was named South Carolina's Outstanding Chapter Regent by the S.C. Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She promoted patriotism, education and historic preservation by engaging members in committees and chapter events.

Projects under her leadership included: Medal of Honor ceremonies, furnishing library for USS Ralph H. Johnson, fundraising scholarship money for accredited artisan school, organizing DAR Mother’s Day luncheon and fundraiser, and a Wreath Laying ceremony at Fort Moultrie historic site, honoring General Moultrie. She supported trips with supplies to the Ralph H. Johnson VA Hospital and also to Tamassee DAR School.

Herritage encouraged volunteerism in local schools, and participated in meal preparation at Fisher House. She championed naturalization ceremonies, and Constitution Week proclamations. Herritage is currently spearheading the state wide pillow case project for active duty women. The project involves embellishing pillowcases, stuffing them with personal items and shipping them to ladies on active duty.
