Together SC brings together local sponsors Boeing and Grayson Law Firm along with long-standing natives, June Bradham and Tucker Branham of CDM to host the 2019 Lowcountry Board Leadership Summit in Charleston on April 9. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at The Citadel.
The Lowcountry Board Leadership Summit is designed for CEOs, executive directors and board leaders from nonprofit organizations. Attendees will be inspired and challenged to see their leadership and governance role from a new perspective. Organizations that send three individuals will receive a fourth registration for free if they are new or renewing members of Together SC. Nonprofits are strongly encouraged to register both the executive director and board chair.
“Our board leadership summits are annual events but each year we offer new content,” explains Debbie Nelson, Together SC’s Knowledge Network manager. “This summit will focus on the importance of board member engagement and how critical it is for nonprofits to consistently attract and engage rock star leaders.”
The Board Leadership Summit will be led by June Bradham and Tucker Branham of CDM, a nonprofitconsultancy headquartered in Charleston. Sessions are divided into three one-hour sessions and include topics such as how to recruit board members who could become a board chair and how to make board meetings count.
“We want to nurture organizations in their journey to find board leaders who will help make a difference over a long period of time,” says Bradham, author of “What Board Members Want.” “We know from decades of experience that is the foundation for a successful organization.”
The Lowcountry Board Leadership Summit is presented by Together SC, The Citadel Campaign Foundation for Leadership, Boeing, Grayson Law Firm, Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums and Trio Solutions Inc. The cost is $75 per person for Together SC member organizations, $125 per person for eligible Together SCmember organizations and registration is available at togethersc.org.
