The name has not yet been released for the man who was struck by a car around 6:30 a.m. this morning around the intersection of Williamsburg County Hwy. (US Hwy. 52) and Brockington Road. Callers to The News this morning reported someone laying in the road. According to SC Highway Patrol, he was walking east on the road in the area between DSM and Broadstep, approximately five miles north of Kingstree, when he was struck by a vehicle also traveling east. The man died on the scene. Authorizes have yet to locate the vehicle or the driver. More details will be posted as they are released. The SC Highway Patrol is still investigating.Â
