What do dinosaurs and the library have in common? Kids and adults alike love them both! That is why every year the Charleston County Public Library celebrates DiNovember. As a month-long celebration of dinosaurs, DiNovember invites families to learn about and explore these prehistoric creatures. We hope you will join us to celebrate some of our favorite animals.

The Wando Mount Pleasant Library’s Children’s Department will have fun, interactive displays available all month long for families to enjoy. Children will love comparing their foot size to the footprints of different dinosaurs, learning about dinosaur lifestyles, engaging with our fun fossil activity, and so much more. We will even have life-size dinosaurs throughout the department that we know you will not want to miss. After exploring all the dinosaur exhibits, children will earn a special DiNovember prize. These activities are available whenever the library is open, so we encourage you and your family to come and experience them over and over again all November long.

The Wando Mount Pleasant Library is not the only branch that celebrates DiNovember. Other locations will be showcasing dinosaurs with activities like Dinosaur I Spy, showing dinosaur movies, hosting dinosaur-themed storytimes, making dinosaur dough fossils — and so much more. Check out the library’s website at www.ccpl.org, follow our social media accounts or ask your local branch for information about all the DiNovember events happening throughout the Charleston County Public Library.

We love celebrating DiNovember with you, but the best part about DiNovember is that the celebration does not have to end when you leave the library. The library has many interesting print and digital books about dinosaurs your family can check out. Your family can listen to a story about dinosaurs as an audiobook or book on CD. The library also has a Storytime Kit all about dinosaurs, with books, songs, games and more for you and your family to create your own dinosaur storytime. You can even stream TV shows and movies about dinosaurs using our digital media collections. Be sure to ask a library staff member about all the dinosaur resources available when you are visiting the library during DiNovember.

We cannot wait to celebrate DiNovember with you. If you have any questions, please call the Wando Mount Pleasant Library at 843-805-6888.
