01) P.F. Chang's attack Town Centre

A Sunday afternoon sit-down dinner at P.F. Chang’s in Towne Centre ended on a sour note for a party of four, when an unruly cyclist reportedly harassed the group and proceeded to damage their car.

The offender in question — described as a 36-year-old White male with salt-and-pepper hair and chest-length beard — is wanted for assault, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD).

Upon arriving at the outdoor mall venue at approximately 2:05 p.m., Town police heard someone yelling in anger. But after searching for the male of interest in the crowded shopping area, cops lost track of their target.

In interviewing the complainants, police learned that while the family was headed toward the parking lot after exiting the eating establishment, they observed a man on a bicycle hurling threats and insults at the females of the group.

And though the family thought they may have been in the clear once they entered their vehicle, the suspect proceeded to pursue and hit the white mid-sized automobile multiple times, as detailed in a corresponding police incident report.

A tow-truck hook or large carabiner was reportedly the weapon of choice.

Police noted two dents on the hood of the car, as well as a shattered driver’s side mirror. A male family member further communicated that the cyclist attempted to damage the vehicle’s windshield.

No injuries were recorded, with the exception of “minor anxiety,” police said.

In describing the alleged assailant, the complainants mentioned that the man appeared to be in his 40s, or even 50s or 60s, as he seemed like he had experienced some “hard living.”

In addition, the victims expressed their intention to press charges once the subject is apprehended.

The P.F. Chang’s manager informed the authorities that the restaurant’s exterior cameras were out of service at the time of the incident.
