In front of thousands of spectators White Knoll High School’s Timberwolf Marching Pride scored 81.1 and was named Grand Champion of the 13th annual Lowcountry Marching Band Invitational (LCI) this past Saturday at Wando High for the first time ever at District 2 Regional Stadium. The Timberwolf Marching Pride, from Lexington performed their winning show “The Journey” with 112 marching band members under the direction of Tom Padgett. The Wando High School Band Boosters hosts LCI which this year was directed by LCI coordinators Jay Johnston and EC Setser.

Ten marching bands from around the Lowcountry and beyond competed for top honors at the 2018 LCI. As host, the Wando High School Marching Band did not compete but performed their 2018 show “By a Thread,” in exhibition mode while the nationally-ranked adjudicators tallied the scores. Saturday’s exhibition was also the first time Wando's band wore their brand new uniforms designed by visual coordinator Michael Gray.

The Wando High School Band Boosters thanks the Bands of Wando Harmony Sponsors, the Bands of Wando Foundation, the Town of Mount Pleasant, Charleston County School District; and the numerous parent and community volunteers. The Bands of Wando invites the community to a Nov. 3 exhibition performance of “By a Thread” at the District 2 Stadium at 1000 Warrior Way prior to competing at the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championship Nov. 8-10 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
