The Lowcountry Food Bank, whose mission is to lead the fight against hunger throughout the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina, is pleased to announce the hiring of Stephanie Storer as nutrition education coordinator. Storer earned a Master’s in health promotion management at American University in Washington, D.C. and completed a dietetic internship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
She holds a Bachelor’s in nutrition and dietetics from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. She also served in the Americorps National Civilian Community Corps where she worked with non-profit organizations throughout the southwestern United States.
The Lowcountry Food Bank Nutrition Education team provides training and materials to empower individuals to prepare delicious, nourishing meals, and provides its partners with training, materials and guidance to empower the community to make the best food choices within a budget. Teaching the community to make the most of their food resources is a key part of addressing the root causes of hunger.
