Ada Frances Grammer age 86, of Decherd, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living in Tullahoma. Born on July 8, 1929 in Harvey, Illinois, the late Monroe and Cora Brandon Abbott welcomed to the world one of their eight children.
Ms. Grammer will be remembered by her family as a working woman. She worked for Genesco as a supervisor for 37 years and Walmart as a switch board operator for 27 years. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting glass shoes and jewelry. Ms. Grammer loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. In addition to her parents Ms. Grammer is preceded in death by her siblings, Velma Abbott Casteel, Evie Abbott Morris, Charles M. Abbott and Betty Jo Abbott Hill.
Ms. Grammer leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Carma (Rod) Grammer Tatum of Charlotte, NC; son, Forrest R. “Bubba” Grammer of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Brandi Tatum Floyd, Christy Grammer Chowhan and Bart Tatum; great-grandchildren, Charlton, Garrett, Tatum, Bailey, Gavin and Griffin; great-greatgrandchildren, Reagan and Greyson; siblings, Doris Abbott Gibson and Don Abbott both of Estill Springs and Jean Abbott Bass of Matthison, IL.
She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be conducted Monday, March 7, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
