Former College of Charleston men's soccer captain Leland Archer has been named in Trinidad and Tobago's 23-man roster for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Archer, a 2018 graduate from The College, earns his first full international call-up to the senior squad after playing for Trinidad and Tobago at the U-17 level. A 2017 CAA Defensive Player of the Year and two-time All-CAA first team selection, Archer is in his second season with the Charleston Battery, the Lowcountry's professional USL team.

Archer will meet up with the squad for a final tune-up game against Canada on June 10 before the Concacaf Gold Cup group stage begins on June 15. Trinidad and Tobago open Group D play against Panama in Minneapolis, Minn., on June 18 before facing the USA in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 22. A final match against Guyana on June 26 in Kansas City, Kan., will round out the group stages before quarterfinal play begins the same week.

Archer is the first Cougar to earn a full international call-up in Charleston's soccer history.
