Hundreds of runners are expected to flock to the shoreline this summer for the 20th annual Isle of Palms Beach Run.

This year’s event includes a 5K run or walk, a 10K run and three shorter youth “fun runs” across the hard-packed sand during low tide the morning of Saturday, July 21.

All four races begin and end at the Windjammer on Front Beach. The 5K and 10K start at 8 a.m. with the 100-yard, half-mile and mile youth races following at 9 a.m.

Registration for the 5K and 10k races is $30 for early registrants and $35 after thereafter. Early registration for the youth runs is $10, and $15 after the deadline. The first 200 to register are guaranteed a free moisture wicking IOP Beach Run t-shirt.

Awards will be given to the top male and females in both the 5K and 10K, as well as the two best male and females of each age division. All fun-run participants will receive a race ribbon.

Registration is available at racesonline.com/events/iop-beach-run, in person at the Isle of Palms Recreation Department or by phone at (843) 886-8294. Runners may also register at 7 a.m. the morning of the race.
