Wando football is expanding its presence throughout the summer and giving future Warriors an opportunity to join for free.
Wando will host the 21st annual Warrior Football Camp June 10-13 in Park West.
The non-contact camp, open to ages 8-15, will focus on passing, skill positions, line play and kicking development. Warriors head coach Jimmy Noonan and his staff will teach the same sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork values they instill in the Warrior football teams.
Camp will run from 9 a.m until noon each of the four days. Registration for the Warrior Football Camp is $100 for Mount Pleasant residents and $130 for non-residents. Visit tompsc.com and use the activity code 414015-11 to register, or call the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department at (843) 884-8517.
Rising fifth through eighth graders are also invited to attend the Warriors Wednesday Summer Camp Series at no cost.
New this summer, the non-contact weekly camps will focus on position specific development in June to prepare players for seven-on-seven competition in July.
June 12 will focus on quarterbacks, receivers and defensive backs. June 19 is arranged for offensive and defensive linemen. June 26 is for H-Backs, tight ends and linebackers. July 10, 17 and 24 will combine all offensive and defensive skill positions together in seven-on-seven.
No registration is required the Warriors Wednesday Summer Camp Series. Players should show up at the Wando High School practice fields with shorts and cleats at 5 p.m. each day. Each camp is two hours.
