Wando shut out White Knoll, 1-0, in the second round of the Class AAAAA girls soccer state playoffs Wednesday in Mount Pleasant.

Warriors freshman Kaleigh Bosak lost her defender with a quick inside-outside move and floated a shot over the Timberwolves keeper in the ninth minute for the game’s only goal.

Wando will host Region 8 champion Ashley Ridge in the Lower State semifinals on Friday. The top-seeded Swamp Foxes defeated Chapin, 5-1, Wednesday in the second round. Wando beat Ashley Ridge, 2-0, in March and is 8-0 all-time against the Swamp Foxes.

Academic Magnet

Academic Magnet won 13-0 at Marion in the second round of the Class AAA girls state playoffs on Wednesday.

Riane Coman, Caley Jacobs, Riley Haas and Kaylin Morris each scored twice. Coman added two assists for the Raptors, who led 9-0 at halftime. Libby Jaskwhich preserved the shutout in goal with three saves.

The two-time defending AA state champion Raptors will continue their road trek at Region 8 champion May River in the Lower State semifinals on Friday. The top-seeded Sharks shut out Waccamaw, 3-0, in the second-round on Wednesday. Academic Magnet is 2-0 all-time against May River.

Bishop England

Bishop England shut out Battery Creek, 6-0, in the second round of the Class AAA girls soccer state playoffs Wednesday on Daniel Island.

The Bishops led 6-0 at halftime.

The defending AAA state champion Bishops will host Region 5 champion Swansea in the Lower State semifinals on Friday. The top-seeded Tigers defeated Wade Hampton, 2-0, in the second-round on Wednesday. Bishop England outlasted Swansea in double overtime in the Lower State championship game last year and is 3-0 all-time against the Tigers.

Oceanside

Oceanside shut out North Central, 11-0, in second round of the Class AA playoffs Wednesday in Mount Pleasant.

The Landsharks led 7-0 at halftime.

Oceanside will host fourth-seeded Woodland in the Lower State semifinals on Friday. Woodland defeated Columbia, 4-1, in the second round on Wedneday.
