If professional development goals made your New Year's resolutions list for 2024, you’re in luck. The College of Charleston School of Business is offering two human resources classes beginning later this month and February.

SHRM Essentials of Human Resources

January 25 and 26, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. (in person)

The course is ideal for individuals looking to develop a solid foundation in HR practices and those looking to enhance their existing skillset and advance their careers in the field. Students will explore crucial HR topics, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and employment law.

Classes will be located at the Riley Center at 176 Lockwood Blvd. Registration deadline is January 19.

SHRM CP/SCP Exam Preparation

Virtual Format: February 5 - May 13, 2024, Monday evenings from 6-8 p.m.

In-Person Format: February 7 - May 15, 2024, Wednesday evenings from 4-6 p.m.

This course is ideal for individuals looking to earn the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification. Increase your chances of passing the exam by attending this prep course and receive exclusive test-taking tips. Registration deadline is January 29.

Karen A. Clark SPHR, SHRM-SCP, teaches both courses. Clark is an experienced consultant, trainer, manager, business developer and executive in human resources with significant expertise in employee benefits and training.
