Obituary - Martha Ann Gallimore Easter

Martha Ann Gallimore Easter, 81, of Mount Pleasant, SC , entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 27, 2016 after a extended illness. She was born in Greensboro, NC on June 11, 1935 to the late Lloyd B. Gallimore, Sr. and Ardith DeHaven Gallimore. Marty graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY in 1955 and received a Masters in Education from UNC Greensboro in 1961. She had a long career in education and public service, most notably serving as a teacher and Assistant Principal of Anderson Primary School in Kingstree, SC for 15 years. After retiring to Mt. Pleasant in 1999, she was very involved in several groups at her church St. Andrews, Mt. Pleasant where she actively participated and assisted in multiple ministries. Marty was a prolific reader and always striving to learn. She was a woman of deep faith, a gifted cook and a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Ray N. Easter; sons Lowell Easter (Cathy) of Greensboro, NC, and Marcell Easter (Susan) of Charleston, SC; daughter Jana Vetter (Jeff) of Knoxville, TN; and brother Lloyd B. Gallimore, Jr. (Sharon) of Brevard, NC; grandchildren Ellen Jones (Laughton) of Charlotte and Catherine Easter of Chapel Hill, Maxwell and George Easter of Charleston, and Alex Vetter of Knoxville and many loving family members and friends. A visitation was held at Sams Hall at St. Andrew's Church Mount Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 on Tuesday November 29, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A memorial service was held at St. Andrew's Church Mount Pleasant at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 30, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to “Fishin’ for a Mission” with St. Andrew's Church Mount Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
